Lewis Browne, author and lecturer who recently returned from a world tour in which he spent some time in Germany, said that it may be possible to bring so much pressure to bear upon Germany by means of a boycott that the Nazis will be forced to discontinue their persecution of the Jews.
In an interview here, Mr. Browne stated that he did not see any acts of atrocities while in Germany.
“But the situation is far more tragic. A much more grievous wrong is being done. A people is being starved to death. Bankers have been forced out of their positions. Merchants are being ruined. Physicians, scientists, lawyers, teachers and artists have been driven out of their professions. Only one per cent of the Jewish children can receive any schooling. Jews may not receive treatment in public hospitals, and Jewish hospitals are being forced out of existence.
“Germany is a nation gone mad.”
