A national labor-industry event reflecting a broad-based cooperative effort in behalf of Israel produced more than $6 million in Israel Bonds for Israel’s economic development this week. The largest Israel Bond dinner of its kind to be held this year honored Patrick E. Gorman, a national leader of the Meat Cutters Union for over 50 years, on his 84th birthday and was attended by more than 1500 leaders and representatives of the American food industry and labor unions. The Israel Prime Minister’s Medal was presented to Gorman by Israeli Ambassador Simcha Dinitz.
