A new Knesset faction, “Banai,” was formed this, week. The acronym stands for “Brit Neemanei Eretz Israel” (Covenant of the Faithful of Eretz Israel) and the faction comprises Likud rebels Geula Cohen and Moshe Shamir. The two said they would be “the only real opposition,” constantly attacking what they regard as the “disastrous policies” of the Begin government and striving to ensure Israel’s retention of, and settlement in, all parts of Eretz Israel.
