A radical Palestinian leader will remain in jail, the Palestinian Authority said. In a statement issued Monday night, the Palestinian Authority expressed respect for the decision of a Gaza court that Ahmed Sa’adat, the secretary-general of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, should be freed, but said the ruling could not be implemented “under these circumstances because of Israeli threats.”
