A Reform rabbi in New Jersey was charged in the 1994 murder of his wife. Rabbi Fred Neulander, formerly senior rabbi at a Cherry Hill, N.J., congregation, resigned more than three years ago after conceding that he had participated in inappropriate rabbinic behavior. A Philadelphia radio personality later admitted she had a two-year affair with Neulander that she said ended shortly after the death of his wife, Carol.
