A right-wing Israeli legislator has gathered the signatures of 62 Knesset members to back legislation that would prevent the prime minister from signing any international treaties with a minority government. The initiative, sponsored by Knesset member Benny Eilon, is intended to prevent Prime Minister Ehud Barak from signing any peace agreement with the Palestinians as long as he lacks a parliamentary majority.
