A Russian Jewish businessman and philanthropist was elected head of a worldwide Zionist organization for youth. Arcadi Gaydamak was elected last week as head of Betar, his Moscow spokesman reported. Gaydamak said that under his leadership the group would attempt to revive Zionist ideals, fight assimilation and counteract anti-Semitism.
