A senior Israeli diplomat was suspended from her post for two weeks amid allegations that she leaked a classified Foreign Ministry document regarding the peace process. According to the allegations against her, Colette Avital provided journalists with a document outlining possible Israeli reactions to a unilateral declaration of a Palestinian state. Avital, a former consul general to New York and former ambassador to Portugal, denied the allegations.
