What the world needs today is the recovery of its sense of prayer, said Rabbi Joseph Zeitlin at Temple Ansche Chesed, West End avenue and 100th street. In ancient times, he said, people prayed for materialistic things. Today we must pray for spiritual things. “We must learn to pray,” he said, “for the blessings of faith, for tolerance and for love of humanity. In this sense our prayers will have richer meaning.”
