A Shi’ite cleric in Lebanon offered a $1 million reward for killing Israel’s Ashkenazic chief rabbi. The move came after Yisrael Meir Lau backed Israel’s policy of targeting Palestinian militants. Lau is one of dozens of Israeli political leaders, military officers and rank-and-file activists who are now on Arab militants’ hit lists.
