A strike by fuel workers in Israel was averted after the Histadrut labor union reached an agreement with the Finance Ministry. The workers at the state-owned Infrastructure and Energy Company, which has a monopoly on the distribution of fuel in Israel, cut off supplies to the airport and electric company to protest plans to split the company and begin privatization.
