Israel’s Labor Court on Tuesday persuaded the Lifeguard Union to postpone by a week a threatened strike over wages.
The lifeguards, many of whom earn little more than minimum wage, are demanding better terms.
The dispute came amid a rash of drownings off Israel’s beaches, many of which are crowded and unguarded in summer.
