A terrorist bombing was averted in the northern Israeli city of Afula when police detained a Palestinian man carrying a bomb in a bag. The police were responding to a call regarding a suspicious object in a bank — which turned out to be nothing — when they noticed the Palestinian fleeing and stopped him for questioning.
