A top official for the Russian natural gas monopoly Gazprom said the gas giant will invest some $600 million in a controversial $2 billion deal to develop an Iranian gas field. The official was quoted as saying that his company is “absolutely indifferent” to complaints raised in the United States about the deal, which was reached in partnership with French and Malaysian companies.
