A total of 158 Soviet Jews fasted over the weekend in solidarity with the Soviet Jewish prisoners who staged a hunger strike last Friday on the first anniversary of the Leningrad show trials. This information was relayed by telephone to Si Frumkin, chairman of the Southern California Council for Soviet Jews, by Mrs. Leila Kornfeld, a Moscow activist. Mrs. Kornfeld said the sympathy hunger strike involved Jews in five cities and that two of them have already fasted 24 days. She added that her own application for a visa to Israel was rejected 10 days ago.
