A U.S. court awarded $1.25 million to the family of the Chasidic man killed in the 1991 Crown Heights riots. The award made last week came after Kings County Hospital admitted negligence in treating Yankel Rosenbaum. Rosenbaum was killed in the anti-Jewish violence that erupted in the Brooklyn neighborhood after a Chasidic driver’s car accidentally struck and killed a 7-year-old black child, Gavin Cato.
