A U.S. envoy will travel to the Middle East next week to press the Palestinian Authority to create a prime minister’s post. A State Department official told JTA that David Satterfield, deputy assistant secretary of state for Near Eastern affairs, is seeking international support for the position of prime minister at task force meetings in Paris this week of “The Quartet” — the United States, United Nations, European Union and Russia.
