A U.S. judge ordered the chief justice of Alabama’s Supreme Court to remove a monument of the Ten Commandments from the state judicial building within 15 days. On Tuesday, the judge, who earlier ruled that the monument violates the constitutional separation of religion and state, lifted a stay he had placed on the removal.
