A U.S. proposal to jump-start the Israeli-Palestinian peace process calls on Israel to carry out a redeployment from the West Bank over the next 12 weeks, limit expansion of new settlements and agree not to demolish some 1,800 Palestinian homes, according to a copy of the proposal reportedly obtained by the Israeli newspaper Ha’aretz. Meanwhile, U.S. Middle East envoy Dennis Ross and representatives of Israel and the Palestinian Authority were in London in an attempt to reach an agreement on the plan.
