A Ukrainian city council is honoring local soldiers who fought with the Nazis as “fighters for independence.” The Ivano-Frankivsk city council in western Ukraine officially recognized 24 veterans of the Nazi SS Halychyna division, saying they fought for freedom from Soviet rule.
