A visit by the delegates to the Hechalutz Farm at Parkville, outside of Baltimore, marked yesterday’s proceedings of the convention of the Poale Zion-Zeire Zion, the United Jewish Socialist Labor Party.
Six Chalutzim now live at the place during a period of training and preparation prior to their departure for Palestine. They are undergoing a practical course under the guidance of the well-known Palestine agronomist, Joseph Ettinger.
A report, which aroused a lively discussion afterwards, was made today by Pinchus Gingold, of New York, on the Jewish public schools and teachers’ seminary.
There are today, he said, under auspices of the party and the Jewish National Workers’ Alliance, close to sixty schools in various parts of the country and a seminary in New York.
Mr. Gingold was followed by Joel Entin, president of the seminary, who read a paper on the cultural activities of the movement.
Baruch Zuckerman, member of the executive committee, reported today on the deliberations of the World Conference at Danzig last month and the Jewish Agency.
