Abe J. Greene, originator of the industrial relations board here which has prevented 400 strikes, has resigned his chairmanship. Harry B. Haines, publisher of the Paterson Evening News, of which Mr. Greene is city editor, also has resigned.
Mr. Greene gave as his reason the difficulty in devoting much of his time to the work and the necessity of the board having as its chairman someone who has more time.
“When the board was started,” he said, “I told the members that it would be impossible for me to continue for any length of time the work they asked me to undertake. Now that the board is running smoothly and has become such a powerful asset to this community, I am forced to resign and give over the work to someone else.”
