About 1,000 persons attended the Beth David Hospital dinner Sunday night at the Hotel Astor, paying $50 a plate. The proceeds were turned over to the general fund of the Hospital.
Dr. Louis I. Harris, Commissioner of Health, Justice Louis I. Gibbs, of the Supreme Court, and Bird S. Coler, Commissioner of Public Welfare, spoke on the needs of the hospital and the need of the community for the hospital. Charles Greenberg, president of the hospital, also spoke.
The estate of the late Louis Heineman, who designated that his residuary estate be divided equally between the Hebrew Union College. Cincinnati, and the Jewish Consumptive Relief Society of Denver, will amount to about $280,000 according to Frank Merz, President of the Union Trust Company of Jamestown, N. Y., trustee. Louis Heineman died last July at the age of 77.
