About 3000 former emissaries of the Jewish Agency and the World Zionist Organization recently organized into a national body to operate under the auspices of the Zionist Council in Israel. Some 50 former emissaries met in Jerusalem over the weekend and announced the establishment of the new organization. It was decided that its main function would be to promote ties between settlements and neighborhoods in Israel and Jewish communities overseas; lectures in local schools on Jewish life overseas; guidance of emissaries scheduled to leave; and work in the absorption of new immigrants and overseas students.
