Nearly half of the 49,771 Jews living in Toronto in 1951 were born in Canada, a population study conducted by the Canadian Jewish Congress here has revealed. The percentage of Canadian-born Jews living in the city was 47.4, while 20.3 percent had lived in Canada 30 years or more, 14.3 percent were immigrants of 20-29 years’ residence, 3.4 percent had lived here between 10 and 19 years and 14.6 percent were less than 10 years in the country.
