According to information received by the American Friends of the Alliance Israelite Universelle in New York, the Ettehad schools of the Alliance in Iran have resumed their normal functioning. Only a very small number of students were absent when the schools were reopened. It is believed that their absence does not indicate that there were departures from the country among the families of the students, the Alliance said. There are about 4000 students in the 14 Ettehad schools in Teheran and other cities of Iran.
