Gebhard Mueller, Minister President of Baden-Wurttemberg, revealed today that legal action has finally been started against Ludwig Zind, an Offenburg high school teacher who publicly declared several months ago that “not enough Jews were gassed” during the Nazi regime.
Following protests by the Council of Jews of Baden to the Ministry of Education, disciplinary proceedings were started against the teacher, who failed to appear at the first hears on December 30, claiming illness. The Ministry of Education thereupon suspended Zind from his teaching position.
Dr. Mueller said that the Government of Wurttemberg-Baden would use all means at its disposal against the offense but fiat no definite stand would be taken before the disciplinary and legal proceedings were concluded.
