The New York branch of the Women’s League of the United Syngogue of America is arranging for its Annual Succuoth Festival, to take place on Sunday evening, October 8. The leaders in the one hundred affiliated and associated organizations constituting the branch will get together to celebrate the Harvest Festival, initiating the year’s activities for Conservative Jewish womanhood of the city.
The Women’s League considers itself privileged to be afforded the opportunity to join the outstanding Jewish organizations in this country in honoring Dr. Cyrus Adler on his seventieth birthday.
The Bureau of International Service of the National Council of Jewish Women has been receiving daily numbers of new cases as a result of the German situation. Professional men and women, now refugees, seeking employment and information regarding housing facilities and educational possibilities in this country, have been referred by the Bureau to the local Council sections for this service. A number of sections are now arranging special meetings to be addressed by distinguished publicists who have just returned from Germany.
