Senators Abraham A. Ribicoff of Connecticut and Jacob K. Javits of New York received the Human Rights Award of the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith this weekend at a dinner marking the opening of the 1964 ADL $4, 300, 000 appeal. Both Senators urged support of the Civil Rights Bill, but warned that passage of the measure would solve no problems unless “the ultimate responsibility for civil rights” is accepted by individual Americans.
