Adolph S. Oko, editor of the Contemporary Jewish Record, and named Jewish scholar, died here suddenly last night. He was 50 years old. Mr. Oko was born in Russia and accounted in Germany. He came to the United States as a young man.
From 1905 until 1933 Mr. Oko was librarian of the Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati. Haring that period and more recently he wrote many articles and several volumes on Jewish culture and philosophy. He was a disciple of Benich Spinoza and one of the members of the international Spinoza Society of which he was American secretary. About two years ago he assumed the editorship of the Contemporary Jewish Record, which is published by the American Jewish Committee.
