The Council of the League of Nations now in session here adopted the observations on the development of Palestine submitted by the Permanent Mandates Commission, commenting on the report submitted to it by the British government and the memorandum of the Zionist World Organization.
The report was adopted following a discussion which developed on the question as to whether the recently concluded agreement between Great Britain and Transjordania was compatible with the provisions of the Palestine Mandate. Cushendan. British representative, argued that the Palestine Mandate remains in effect, that Great Britain is responsible for its execution and in view of the fact that it is under obligation to report to the League concerning the fulfillment of the Mandate, the consent of the Council to the treaty is not necessary. The Council decided to take into cognizance this declaration.
The Permanent Mandates Commission was also requested to make a further study into the relations between the mandated territories and the states who are members of the League of Nations.
