Ambassadors and other leading diplomats from eight countries, most of them from African countries, participated here tonight in a panel discussion on “Africa, Is It Ready for Democracy?” conducted by the Tom Paine Forum of the B’nai B’rith Lodge here. More than 400 guests attended.
Among the principal addresses delivered at the event was one by Label A. Kats, national president of B’nai B’rith. Michael S. Comay, Israel Ambassador to the United Nations, was among the panelists. Others in attendance included Mayor Stanley W. Church and Ogden Reid, former U.S. Ambassador to Israel, now chairman of the New York State Commission Against Discrimination.
