Before his departure for London, Harry Sacher, chairman of the Palestine Zionist Executive, invited the resident members of the Agency Commission and also the executive committee of the Vaad Leumi to a discussion of the political situation here and of political prospects in view of the completion of the Commission’s inquiry. The meeting was attended by Harzfeld, Remez, Ben-Gurion, Mereminsky, Arlasoroff, Ben-Zwi and Rubashow of the labor group, Suprasky, Mossinsohn, M. Dizengoff, former mayor of Tel Aviv; Dr. Moses Glicksman, editor of the “Ha’-Aretz,” and M. M. Ussishkin, head of the Jewish National Fund.
Miss Henrietta Szold reported on conditions in America and England. The meeting, at which all of the above debated constitutional changes in the Palestine government, the agenda of the Jewish Agency’s administrative committee meeting in New York February 1, and emergency fund problems, was presided over by I. Sprinzak.
According to a cable received by “The Day,” the meeting discussed rumors that the British Labor government was considering the establishment of a parliament for Palestine. From the discussion, it appeared that most of the members of the Zionist Executive are opposed to a Palestine parliament.
