Jewish Agency circles today authoritatively informed the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that High Commissioner Sir Arthur Grenfell Wauchope has no intentions of displacing the Agency from its character of representing world Jewry in matters affecting Jewish Palestine. Yesterday the London Times predicted that after formation of a legislative council in Palestine, the Agency would be relegated to a secondary place.

According to Agency officials, numerous matters affecting Palestine Jews will pass out of the hands of the Agency once the legislative council is formed. But, it was said, the Agency is primarily interested in Jewish immigration and the question of land sales and these matters are not within the competency of the legislative council. On these matters the Palestine government will consult the Jewish Agency as usual.
