The Jewish Agency for Palestine today issued a statement expressing gratification over the League of Nations Mandates Commission’s report on Palestine and voicing hope that the League Council would consider not only the political considerations created by Arab terrorism but also those bearing on the Jewish position in Palestine and other countries.
Far from ending the enmity of Jews and Arabs the statement said the British policy can be maintained only by interminable exercise of force against the Jews. The Agency expressed gratification both over the fact that all seven members found the policy contrary to the mandate as hitherto interpreted and the fact that a majority of four found that the policy did not conform with the mandate in its basic intentions.
