The agreement for the sale of the Haifa refineries by British oil companies to a firm controlled by British financier Isaac Wolfson will probably be signed here within a few days, it was reported today. Signatories will be the Shell Oil Company and British Petroleum, the seller, and Paz Corporation, Mr. Wolfson’s concern.
The purchase price has not been disclosed, but is reportedly between one and one and a half million pounds sterling($2,800,000 and $4,200,000). Informed sources said that British technicians would remain in Israel a short time longer to train Israelis and to help them during the period of transition.
