Both wings of the Agudas Israel movement have asked the Mizrachi parties to reconstitute the Religious Bloc which was in effect in the Israel Parliament form the period of the election campaign for the first Parliament to just before the campaign for the second Knesset.
In a joint letter addressed to the Mizrachi parties, Minister of Welfare I.M Lewin, for the general Agudah movement, and Deputy Minister of Education Kalman Kahane, for the Poale Agudah, asked that the Religious Bloc be formed again so that the Orthodox parties could present a united front to the “disturbing situation in the religious life of the country.”
