The House Appropriations Subcommittee on Foreign Operations yesterday approved a $8.5 billion foreign aid appropriations bill for the current fiscal year which includes $324.5 million in economic assistance for Israel and $300 million in credits to purchase U.S. military equipment. The subcommittee acted on the full aid bill after delaying action on the Administration’s request for $222 million in emergency military aid for Cambodia. The bill also provides $260 million in economic assistance for Egypt and $77 million for Jordan.
