The American Jewish Committee announced today that three of its leaders will meet Pope John Paul 11 at the Vatican February 14 to discuss reaffirmation at the forthcoming Papal Synod of Vatican Council 11 condemnations of anti-Semitic teachings within the Church, Vatican recognition of Israel, and world human rights issues. The three AJC officials are Howard Friedman, president; David Gordis, executive vice president; and Rabbi Marc Tanenbaum, international relations director.
