Alfred M. Cohen, international president of B’nai B’rith, in a statement yesterday to the Jewish Daily Bulletin, expressed gratification at the release from prison of Dr. Benno Walter, German vice-president of the fraternal order. Dr. Walter had been held by the secret police in Berlin for more than a week.
“I am gratified to learn,” Senator Cohen declared, “that a distinguished German Jew, who could not possibly be guilty of disloyalty to his native land, was released from imprisonment.”
