Algar von Hieroth, Finnish Ambassador to Israel, is ending his nine-year term in the country, leaving behind him some 100 trees named after him. The trees were dedicated to him as a gesture of appreciation by Foreign Minister Yigal Allon for his activities for the advancement and strengthening of the relations between the two countries. The dedication ceremony took place at the Herel Forest east of Lod. It was attended by Finnish Embassy staff, Yascov Tsur, the chairman of the Jewish National Fund board of directors; Zeev Shek, director of the West Europe department at the Foreign Ministry; and Avigdor Shoham. chief of protocol at the Ministry.
