Algerian President Ahmed Ben Bella again offered last night to put his army at the service of his Arab “brothers” in war against Israel.
Addressing a rally in Algiers, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the beginning of the revolt against the French, Ben Bella told his audience that, “if necessary,” the Algerian army would fight against Israel “to liberate Palestine.”
He also pledged to use his military establishment to fight against the rule of Moise Tshombe in the Congo. He reiterated an old canard, repeatedly discredited, to the effect that 1,500 Israelis were “fighting for Tshombe.”
