The setting up of machinery for alien registration which had been started in the State of Michigan under the provisions of the Alien Registration Bill adopted by the State Legislature and signed by the Governor of the State, Mr. Brucker, has been temporarily stopped, the opponents of the Bill obtaining an injunction to-day from the Federal Court, restraining the Governor of Michigan from enforcing the Registration Act.
This temporary injunction will be followed by a legal fight in the Federal Court by the opponents of the Bill, to endeavour to get the Registration Act abolished on the ground that it is unconstitutional.
