The Office of War Information today reported that aliens admitted to the U.S. since the Board of Appeals on Visa Cases was created on December 3, 1941, total less than 1/10 the number admitted in a comparable prewar period. The Board, in its first report to President Roosevelt, said it has passed on 6,152 visa applications, representing more than twice that many individuals. In addition, the Board waid existing visa-review machinery is unduly complicated and suggested that it be simplified.
