Aliya figures for the first quarter of this year show a 27.4 percent drop compared to the same period in 1979. The overall number of immigrants was 6769. Some of the drop is apparently accountable to a decline in the number of Soviet Jews leaving the USSR. The dropout rate at Vienna for the January-March period was just below 60 percent.
