All Budapest Jews have been deported to Germany, according to a report received here which quotes a person who allegedly witnessed the deportations.
The report says that huge columns of Jewish men, women and children were marched from Budapest to unknown destinations guarded by SS troops. These processions are referred to, the witness said, as “death columns” because of the numerous deaths en route.
Meanwhile, contingents of the Arrow Cross, Hungarian storm troop organization, are scouring the country, the report adds, in an attempt to discover the whereabouts of 70,000 Jews who mysteriously disappeared from Budapest before they could be deported.
