The International Refugee Organization, in accordance with an agreement reached with the Joint Distribution Committee and the Central Committee of Jewish Rof##ees in Italy, will transfer Jewish DP’s who have resided in Italy for an extended period of time to the displaced persons center at Barletta, it was revealed here today.
The Barletta camp can hold 2,500 persons and could accommodate all the Jewish refugees now in Italy. Hitherto, Jewish refugees in this country resided in camps at Earl, Trani and Barletta. The Trani DP center will continue to serve as a DP transit camp for refugees passing through Italy.
