A proposal to amend the constitution of the Joint Foreign Committee of the Board of Deputies of British Jews and the Anglo-Jewish Association was approved yesterday by the association’s council with one dissenting vote.
The council adopted the report of a joint meeting of the board and association containing the following proposals:
1- The presidents of the board and the association are to be ex-officio joint chairmen of the Joint Foreign Committee.
2- The committee is to include the two presidents, two nominees of the association and six members of the board elected by the board with officers of the board eligible for election.
3- The committee may co-opt three members either permanently or ad hoc under certain conditions.
4- The two chairmen should, as far as possible, consult with the committee and inform the committee of all actions they have taken in intervals between its meetings.
