A concert in honor of Artur Rubinstein, the pianist, at Carnegie Hail, and a dinner in the Grand Ballroom of the New York Hilton Hotel, will be held by the America-Israel Cultural Foundation on Sunday. Proceeds from the event are for the benefit of the Foundation’s programs to further Israel’s cultural life.
Mr. Rubinstein will receive the Foundation’s annual award for distinguished service to Israel’s cultural life. The Foundation, of which Isaac Stern, the violinist, is president, supports projects in some 50 Israeli cultural institutions, fosters cultural exchange programs with Israel and grants some 300 scholarships annually to gifted young Israelis in all the arts. S. Hurok, the impresario, is chairman of the dinner.
