The State Department announced today that American and Israel tax officials are planning to meet here July 10 for technical discussions of possibilities for improving tax relations between the two countries.
The officials will determine whether a basis exists for convention for the avoidance of double taxation with respect to taxes on income and taxes on estates of deceased persons. If a basis for convention is found, drafts of the proposed terms will be prepared by the participants and submitted to their respective governments for consideration with a view to signing.
